Flippo Verzameling Compleet

1995–1999

About this item

Flippo's were the collectible pogs that came inside bags of Smiths chips in the Netherlands, starting in 1995. Every Dutch kid in the mid-90s was obsessed — trading them in schoolyards, slamming stacks with heavy slammers, and desperately trying to complete the full set. The Looney Tunes artwork made them irresistible, and a complete collection was the ultimate playground flex.

A complete Flippo collection is peak Dutch 90s nostalgia. Individual Flippos are worth very little, but full sets — especially the harder-to-find series like the holographic Techno Flippo's or the Chester Cheetah variants — carry real collector value. The market is driven almost entirely by Dutch millennials reliving their childhood, which makes it a tight but passionate niche.

When buying a complete set, verify the count against a checklist — sellers sometimes call a large pile "complete" when it's actually missing a few key pieces. Check for bent or scratched Flippos, since they were literally thrown at the ground during play. Storage matters too: a set in an original Flippo album or binder is worth more than a loose bag of discs. Watch out for the common series being padded with duplicates.
