Grand Theft Auto 2 on PS1 (1999) refined the original's top-down mayhem with a near-future setting, gang reputation systems, and more varied missions. Set in a fictional city called "Anywhere City," it added a layer of strategy — work for one gang and you'd anger another. It was the last top-down GTA before the series went 3D and changed gaming forever.

GTA 2 is often the forgotten middle child of the franchise, sandwiched between the groundbreaking original and the genre-defining GTA III. That overlooked status actually works in a collector's favor — copies are more affordable than you'd expect for a franchise this massive. It's a smart pickup for anyone building a complete PS1 or GTA collection.
