Thunderdome IV - The Devil's Last Wish
About this item
Thunderdome IV — The Devil's Last Wish dropped in late 1993 on ID&T/Arcade Records, hot on the heels of its predecessor. This double CD continued the series' relentless documentation of the Dutch hardcore techno explosion, featuring heavyweights like Buzz Fuzz, The Prophet, Gizmo, and DJ Paul Elstak. Released during what collectors now call the golden era of gabber — roughly volumes I through V — Part IV delivered the same uncompromising energy that had turned Thunderdome into a cultural phenomenon across the Netherlands and Belgium.
As one of the early-run Thunderdome volumes, Part IV sits firmly in the most collectible tier of the series. The first five editions are considered essential by hardcore collectors, and complete original pressings are becoming harder to find in good condition. The Devil's Last Wish also captures a moment just before gabber began its shift toward more polished production, making it one of the last volumes with that raw, unfiltered 1993 sound. Nostalgia plays a major role here — this was rave culture at its peak intensity.
Look for the original Arcade Records pressing with both discs, intact jewel case, and the complete booklet featuring the iconic Thunderdome artwork. Later reissues and budget compilations surface regularly and are worth a fraction of the original. Check disc surfaces carefully — these CDs have had three decades of use. A truly complete copy with minimal wear commands a clear premium over loose discs or copies with cracked cases and missing inserts.
